Vintage-Classic Pincushion,
by Marieta Iosifidou
Classic crochet pincushion is a design from the past. A pincushion (or pin cushion) is a small cushion, typically 5–9cm across, which is used in sewing to store pins or sew needles with their heads protruding so as to take hold of them easily, collect them, and keep them organized.
In Greece, crochet pincushion, has a seat in every home. In girls' dowries, there was usually a white pincushion.
I learned to crochet pincushion, by watching Grandma Tasia as she crocheted it for her grandchildren's dowries.
Like to use different color combinations depending on my mood and leftovers (which I use this way). Everyone can decorate it as likes with inspiration and fantasy. Like tomato 🍅, or Hallowen 🎃 or with 3 pincushion with different sizes (small, medium, large- can do that with the different width of yarn) to add them one by one and to make a Christmas tree.🎄🎄
It is a very easy and cozy crochet addict, and the result is beautiful. Some girls, especially when the used yarn is thin and elegant, and the result pincushion become small in size, also wear them as boutonniere-brooche
Great Idea, for Handmade Gift

Here, trying to creat a basic small ring. We have two ways. You can use which one is easier to you. the result is the same:
1st way :Crochet 5 ch and link them with slip stitch
Or

Rnd 1: Work 12 sc in the ring of previous round. Place marker-total 12sts around
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around (inc in every chain)- total 24sts around
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, 1sc in next st, rep from * around (inc, 1sc) total 36 sts around
Rnd 4: *1 sc in each st, around, rep from * around – (1-1-1), total 36 sts around
Rnd 5: *2 sc in the same st, 1sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around (inc,1sc,1sc, around) – total 48 sts.
Rnd 6: *1 sc in each st, around , rep from * around - (1-1-1 ..) In the end of the 4th rnd à total 48 sts around

Fasten off , cut and safe your yarn. Completed the first part of our work.
With the same way, we crochet and the second part.
To complete our work, we put the two pieces of pincushion with the right side facing outwards and begin to join them as using hook and make single crochet in every st with wrong sides together. Before complete the joing , fill the cushion with the the stuff for pillows-fiberfill. After, continue join the two parts with sc .
Next step, take a long piece of
yarn, and we sew axes (wrap the yarn from the center, around the outside, as make like pie shape ,around. Pull each one tightly to make the petals puffy. Secure the yarn tight.
Now, sew buttons on the top and bottom of pincushion sewing buttons, one on the upside-top and one in
the back side-bottom of pincushion.
