  New pattern, for new dishcloth  in the color of the blooming spring almond tree. 

      An easy knitting even for beginners in knitting. follow the written instructions faithfully

      and the result will justify you. 

  

   Notes: For the center of the pattern, need stitches multiple of 3 + (3 +3+1) .

               For the edge need, 6 stitches (2 for i-cord edge, 3sts,1slst).

                    Materials:

·        Yarn:  Cotton worsted  –  65gr

·        Gauge:20sts x 28r - 4”x4”/ 10x10cm

·        Needles: 4,5mm / US7

·        2 stitch markers

Notes:

·        For the pattern stitch need stitches multiples of 3 +3 +3+1 example:

·        In Carreaux Dishcloth used stitches [3 x8 =24 +3+3+1 total 31sts for the pattern area]

·        In the pattern – slip stitches (slst) knitted as purlwise

·        K : knit

·        P : purl

·        Slstpw: slip stitch purlwise

·        St/s: Stitch/stitches

·        Wyif: with yarn in front

·        Wyib : with yarn in back

Sm: slip marker

·        Cast on 43sts with long tail way.  

Set up row: p6, pm, p31, pm, p4, wyif 2slstpw

StarFish Leftover Dishcloth

 

StarFish Leftover Dishcloth  

Cozy result.  Great Idea for Handmade Gifts win  2 hours knitting time and use up leftover yarns.  Inspiration from starfish-cloth . Some changes and an artistic photo gave me joy .  

Notes from my experience with the starfish dishcloth. I changes instructions,  more analytic from the previous pattern, to be more helpful for me. I share them with all blog visitors . 

Materials:

Yarn: DK Worsted or Aran -100gram/130metre,( 17gram from every yarn color). For the picture Starfish Dishcloth, used up, leftover yarns from my knitting stash.

Used 6 different colors, each one for every  starfish tentacle (white, green, yellow, red, blue nautica, magenta dark).

Needles: 4,5mm/US7

Measurements:26cm height x 26 cm width

Abbreviations:

  • RS: right side
  • WS: wrong side 
  • st/s: stitch/stitches
  • K: knit
  • R: row
  • P:purl
  • Yo: yarn over
  • CO: cast on 
  • BO: bind off 

Notes:

 Every tentacle, knitted with the same way. 

In the last row of tentacle, (R26) and 13teen st, join the new color.

If knitter prefer, can knit with one color all starfish dishcloth.


Instructions:

Starting tentacle (same way knitting everyone of 6 tentacle):

Cast on 15sts – start in the WS of dishcloth.

·        R1  WS: k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R2  RS: k3, yo, k to last st, turn.

·        R3  WS: k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R4  RS: k3, yo, k11- to last 2 sts, turn.

·        R5  WS: k12-k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R6  RS: k3, yo, k10 - k to last 3 sts, turn.

·        R7 WS: k12 - k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R8 RS : k3, yo, k to last 4 sts, turn.

·        R9 WS: k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R10 RS: k3, yo, k to last 5 sts, turn.

·        R11 WS: k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R12 RS: k3, yo, k to last 6 sts, turn.

·        R13 WS: k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R14 RS: k3, yo, k to last 7 sts, turn.

·        R15 WS: k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R16 RS: k3, yo, k to last 8 sts, turn.

·        R17 WS: k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R18 RS: k3, yo, k to last 9 sts, turn.

·        R19 WS: k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R20 RS: K3, yo, k to last 10 sts, turn.

·        R21 WS: k across to last 3 sts, P3.

·        R22 RS: k3, yo, k to last 11 sts, turn.

·        R23 WS: k across to last 3 sts, P3.

·        R24 RS: k3, yo, k to last 12 sts, turn.

·        R25 WS: k across to last 3 sts, p3.

·        R26 RS: BO 12 sts, (in the next st, 

join the next color yarn ) and k all sts across 

 the end of the row.  Just starting the next tentacle

Repeat R1- R26 for every tentacle

When completed and the 26 row of 6th tentacle, BO all sts

Join, as sewing,  the  starting CO row, with the BO row.

Weave in end, the Dishcloth is complete.
